Pleasing technology

We believe that there is a higher need for designed objects in everyday life situations and a growing demand for aesthetically pleasing technology products.

In the design process, we recognized the problem of technology not being integrating well into home environments, often leading to acceptance of unattractive objects or attempts to hide them. Solving this problem by creating the a new product family, starting with the Swisscom Wlan-Box 3, which blends seamlessly into its surroundings, conveying a warm and soft feeling to the customer without compromising the performance.

Leveling aesthetics and environmental consciousness

Sustainability was at the core of the entire design and production process for the Swisscom WLAN-Box 3. Post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) was used alongside reusable production tools, and the housing was designed for optimal refurbishment. These efforts aimed to reduce waste and minimize the environmental impact of the product.

The challenge lay in preserving the quality and aesthetics of the design while incorporating these sustainable practices. The result is a product that is not only visually appealing but also environmentally conscious.
